A signing ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday at the office of the Morongo Band of Mission Indians' Sacramento lobbyist. The tribe, which operates a large casino near Banning, has pushed an Internet poker proposal since last summer.

Last week, Republicans and Democrats on the Legislature's budget-writing panel voted to add $30 million in casino-mitigation money. The move came after heavy lobbying by tribes with casinos, including several from the Inland area that have paid millions into the account known as the special distribution fund.
San Juan Staff Objects To Tribal Proposal for Los Rios Park (CA – Native American Objects in Park)
Orange County Register (August 17, 2010) San Juan Capistrano staff will recommend to the City Council on Tuesday that it not add cultural elements of the Acjachemen tribe to Los Rios Park. Local resident Ed Nunez said at the council's June 29 meeting that the Acjachemen Nation is not represented enough in the city. He proposed adding a kicha, granary, sweat lodge and ramada to the park's designated American Indian component. There was even mention of a fire pit.
Woman Gets Jackpot But Remains Banned From Casino Pauma (CA – Gaming Ban)
