Poker News Daily (September 1, 2010) Recently, the Commerce Casino, Bicycle Casino, Hawaiian Gardens, and Hollywood Park joined in opposition Congressman Barney Frank’s (D-MA) HR 2267, which would create a full licensing and regulatory framework for the internet gambling industry in the United States.
 
California Horse Racing Wagering Bill Through To Senate (CA – Exchange Wagering Legislation)
Poker News Daily (September 1, 2010) The proposed bill, named SB 1072 in the California legislature, would up the cut for the state regarding its percentage of the take of wagers on horse racing. More importantly, perhaps, is the provision in the bill that would allow for “exchange betting,” otherwise known as internet wagering. The bill was on the fast track to being enacted before opposition to the legislation delayed its passage.

When the tribe’s casino opened up a few years later, the checks started rolling in, around $20,000 a month. They moved out of their mobile home into a big house. Local Woman Dropped From Casino Embezzlement Case (CA – Sho-Ka-Wah Casino)
Lake County News (September 1, 2010) The charges have been dropped against a Lake County woman initially included in a case involving an alleged embezzlement against Sho-Ka-Wah Casino in Hopland. Gloria Nelson, 77, of Nice was among eight original defendants in the case, which involves an alleged embezzlement of more than $102,000 from the casino, as Lake County News has reported.

Youth Regional Treatment Center Plans To Move Forward (CA – Indian Heath Services Near Oroville)

Oroville MR (September 1, 2010) Steven Zerebecki, a spokesperson for California Area Indian Health services, said Wednesday the agency will move forward with a Youth Regional Treatment Center at the old Honeyrock Christian Ministries site southeast of Oroville.

Department of Interior News Release (August 31, 2010) Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs Larry Echo Hawk today announced that the Indian Affairs Offices of Indian Gaming Land into Trust Determinations. A letter announcing the meetings was sent to tribal leaders on August 24, 2010.
